Klein Moretti is the protagonist of Lord of Mysteries — a modern Earth man named Zhou Mingrui who wakes in the body of a history graduate in a Victorian occult world, and who climbs the Seer pathway to become the mysterious figure known as The Fool. In the MMORPG, his canonical journey anchors the game's classic storyline, playable alongside your own character's original story.

Origin: From Zhou Mingrui to Klein Moretti

The story begins with transmigration. Zhou Mingrui, an ordinary man from modern China, finds himself in the body of Klein Moretti, a young history graduate in the Loen Kingdom who has just died under suspicious circumstances. Inheriting Klein's life, memories, and dangers, he must understand a world where supernatural Beyonder pathways are real and hidden behind everyday society.

This dual identity never fully disappears. Klein's modern sensibilities — skepticism, humor, caution — shape how he navigates a world of churches, secret organizations, and cosmic horrors.

The Seer Pathway

Klein advances along the Seer pathway, one of the Beyonder pathways of the novel's world. Starting from Sequence 9 Seer, he gains divination and perception abilities, then climbs through increasingly powerful and strange sequences by brewing potions and digesting them through the acting method.

The Seer pathway's higher sequences bend fate, illusion, and causality itself. In the MMORPG, Seer is one of the six playable launch pathways, labeled a ranged DPS with fate and spirituality as its defining traits — see our Seer pathway guide.

The Fool and the Tarot Club

Klein's most consequential creation is an identity rather than a weapon: "The Fool," an apparently ancient and powerful being who hosts gatherings above the gray fog. Around this fabricated majesty forms the Tarot Club, whose members — Audrey Hall's "Justice" among them — trade knowledge, formulas, and favors without knowing their host's true nature.

The Tarot Club structure drives much of the novel's plot and appears in the game's story content, including the "Above the Gray Fog" original-story mode that revisits the Fool's earliest steps.

Klein in the MMORPG

The game's classic storyline retells Klein's canonical journey from Sequence 9 toward the Fool with cinematic production. You do not play as Klein — your original character lives in the same world and era, occasionally crossing his path, while his chapters play out as high-production story content.

Official materials have showcased his route prominently, including trailers focused on the Fool's narrative line. How deeply later novel arcs are adapted at launch is only partly documented To be confirmed.
